Ephesians - Part 1

Ephesians - Part 1

The lesson on October 6, 2013 started a new series on Ephesians and provided an overview of the book. Ephesians is such a huge blessing in the life of a Christian.  When you truly understand the message in Ephesians, it is like being born again, again.  When you look at Ephesians, there is an apparent structure to it.  When you look at Paul's declaration in Ephesians 4:1 and 3:1 of being a prisoner of the Lord, this identifies this as a prison epistle but it is much more than that.  We are encouraged to walk worthy of the basis on the doctrine we were just given.  The structure of the six...

Ephesians - Part 2

Ephesians - Part 2

The lesson on October 13, 2013 continued the "Ephesians" study with part 2 and answered the question why Ephesians is so important to us in this age.  A contrast was presented in Acts 13 which was a ministry that was presented in picture form of the future Ephesians message.  We learned in Acts 13 that Saul, which was his Hebrew name, also had a Gentile name which was Paul.  In Acts, Paul was teaching to the Jew first in Synagogues all the way until the end of Acts.  Judaizers are those who try and pull us back in Acts period truths that were part of the previous administration.  Paul is...

Ephesians - Part 3

Ephesians - Part 3

The lesson on October 20, 2013 was part 3 of the "Ephesians" study and reviewed the high points from the previous lesson before moving into the main emphasis. In Ephesians 4:1, which is the start of the second major section in Ephesians, the word "beseech" means along side.  Paul is calling you alongside your calling whereby you are callled!  You have to understand the calling that Paul is disclosing to you now in this age.  Paul in Ephesians is revealing the Mystery, which was hidden before the foundation of the world (as opposed to from or since) and is a special truth given to Paul the...

Ephesians - Part 4

Ephesians - Part 4

The lesson on October 27, 2013 was part 4 of the "Ephesians" study and covered verses 7-11 but first reviewed the previous lessons. The three W's were covered again showing the Will of the Father, the Work of the Son, and the Witness of the Spirit showed there was a work going on in the Trinity which was before the foundation of the world.  There are also three blessings that go along with the three W's.  Where the gospel is preached, the next step is to grow on right division, which will allow you to see the meat of scripture.  We reviewed the carnal blessings in scripture that were given...

Ephesians - Part 5

Ephesians - Part 5

The lesson on November 3, 2013 was part 5 of the "Ephesians" study and covered chapter 1 through verse 14.  In this section we learn of the witness of the spirit and the security of our salvation when it speaks to the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession.  We looked at the word "mystery" or "musterion" when Paul says the mystery of His will. Some charts were presented showing how many times "mystery" was used and we learn from that analysis that you have to distinguish between Pauls two ministries (Paul - prior to Acts 28, and PAul, post Acts 28, when...

Ephesians - Part 6

Ephesians - Part 6

The lesson on November 10, 2013 was part 6 of the "Ephesians" study and continued in chapter one with verses 15-19. This lesson looks at the three prayers of Paul.  The review of the previous lesson recalled the mystery (or musterion) of his will which had been revealed for the first time in Ephesians after the close of Acts.  This was a secret that was hidden in God before the foundation of the world.  The exhaulted position and hope has been revealed through PAul the prisoner of the Lord and is relevant truth for today.  Two of Paul's prayers are in the doctrinal part of Ephesians and...

Ephesians - Part 7

Ephesians - Part 7

The lesson on November 17, 2013 continued the "Ephesians" study with part 7.  This lesson reviewed what we had learned in the previous lesson and added new material from the remainder of chapter 1.  We reviewed the three prayers Paul cites in Ephesians where two are where he prays and the other he asks for prayer.  The structure of the book is reviewed again and we look at the hope of His calling, the riches of the glory, and the exceeding greatness of His power.  This power that is demonstrated is the power over death in the resurrection.  Even further, we learn of a special reward that...

Ephesians - Part 8

Ephesians - Part 8

The lesson on December 1, 2013 was part 8 of the "Ephesians" study.  A review of chapter one was given where we learned about looking for pentecostal gifts is wrong because of the change in God's revealed plan due to the revelation of his hidden purpose.  In this age, PAul talks about the one gift of the spirit of wisdom and revelation that may be given (verse 1:17). We learn how the King James uses italicized font to correctly reflect the case being communicated.  When we get to the main lesson we learn of the amazing position God has placed us in Him and how the prince of the power of...

Ephesians - Part 9

Ephesians - Part 9

This lesson was given on December 8, 2013 and is part 9 of the "Ephesians" study.  We reviewed verses 1-7 which was taught in the previous lesson and moved on to versus 8-10.  In learning how the KJV uses italics, we reviewed a powerful verse in Hebrews 1:8 where God calls His son God! We learned of three time perspectives: Times Past, But Now, and Ages to Come where we are in the "But Now" and to really understand this position, you have to understand the message that PAul the prisoner is teaching. This is not Paul's pre-Acts 28 ministry. In this lesson we learned how to read verse 8 of...

Ephesians - Part 10

Ephesians - Part 10

The lesson on December 15, 2013 was part 10 of the "Ephesians" study and continued almost to the end of chapter two. As is usual, we reviewed the previous lesson where we learned the proper interpretation of verse 8 where we learn that "for by grace are you saved through faith" not of yourselves.  The "not of yourselves" applies to the entire idea together.  We learned that we have been created in Christ as a new man who has been prepared for good works.  This is the proper order because your works have nothing to do with your salvation. The remaining part of chapter two involves the theme...
