Were all the promises fulfilled in A.D. 70?

Preterism is a Christian eschatological view that interprets some (Partial Preterism) or all (Full Preterism) prophecies of the Bible as events which have already happened. This school of thought interprets the Book of Daniel as referring to events that happened in the 2nd century BC, while seeing the prophecies of Revelation as events that happened in the first century AD. Preterism holds that Ancient Israel finds its continuation or fulfillment in the Christian church at the destruction of Jerusalem in AD 70. Adherents of preterism are commonly known as preterists. Preterism teaches that either all (Full Preterism) or a majority (Partial Preterism) of the Olivet discourse had come to pass by AD 70.The full preterist view is that the second coming of Christ happened in AD 70 and was a judgment and removal of the Old Covenant system (heaven and earth), and it established fully the kingdom, the New Covenant (New heavens and earth). Jesus came in the first century, just as He said He would, and there is NO mention anywhere in Scripture of a "third" coming. (Taken from this article: What is the Preterist View?)

The U, V and W of Right Division - Part 21

The lesson on June 25, 2017 was part 21 of "The U, V and W of Right Division".  Wayne wraps up looking at Preterism and opens up the study of Covenant Theology.  We learn of the three primary covenants with this approach:  1. ´The Covenant of Redemption (Within the trinity a covenant was made to redeem the elect).  2. ´The Covenant of Works which has two periods: a. "Between Adam and God", then b. "From Creation to Fall". 3. ´The Covenant of Grace which specifies a. Between God and Man through Christ and b. From Fall till now and into the future.  The scripture reading was from Romans 9:1-5 KJV

The U, V and W of Right Division - Part 20

The lesson on June 18, 2017 was part 20 of "The U, V and W of Right Division". A review of last weeks lesson was provided, as we looked at the fullness referenced in 1 Corinthians 13:10.  This lesson completes the look at this passage and makes it clear that the perfection of this passage is the fullfilment of prophecy for the nation of Israel with the restoration and the New Covenant.  The scripture reading was from Acts 16:1-4 KJV.

The U, V and W of Right Division - Part 19

The lesson on June 11, 2017 was part 19 of "The U, V and W of Right Division".  Wayne took time to recap what he presented at the Truth for Today conference (you may listen to Wayne's presentation here) and the connections he made with other Acts 28 believers, then transitioned into the lesson of looking at the perfection that is talked about in 1 Corinthians 13.  There are many beliefs as to what the Apostle Paul was talking about.  Some say it is the completion of the New Testament.  Others say it is the completion of scripture.  Futher, some even believe it refers to The Mystery.  None of these things apply to the perfection that Paul was writing about particulary since the Mystery was given to PAul after Acts 28 divorcement of Israel and the very nature of that body of truth being hidden in God until He released it.  The perfection we learn is the completed promises that were made to Israel.  The scripture reading was from Jeremiah 31:31-34 KJV

The U, V and W of Right Division - Part 18

The lesson on May 28, 2017 was part 18 of "The U, V and W of Right Division".  Wayne reviewed what was covered from the last lesson where we learned about a change and what is involved.  The analogy was used of the American Independence from the King of England.  A disruption occurs and then pursuit of the new order.  This pursuit of perfection involves a readjustment and then your faithful following of the new economy which surely follows education.  Today's lesson looked at Ephesians 4:12 KJV "For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ".  The Greed word "καταρτισμός," in this passage is a noun that is used for perfection is the only time that it is used in the bible!  We can learn more about that this means from the verb Greek word "Katarti" and Wayne takes us to several places where this word occurs and we see in the context of how this is used to mend what was broken.  The scripture reading was from 1 Corinthians 13:8-13 KJV

The U, V and W of Right Division - Part 16

The lesson on May 21, 2017 was part 17 of "The U, V and W of Right Division".  Wayne opens up with an analogy using the Declaration of Independence and how American's declared themselves independent from King George and the British Kingdom.  He explained that after this event there had to be two phases of perfection.  The first was re-adjustment.  You had to come to the reality that you no longer are under the King's rule.  In fact now the government has its authority from the people's consent.  The second was you had to learn the responsibilities and privileges of Liberty under the constitution.  This political adjustment was used to talk about our spiritual perfection with Right Division.  After Acts 28:28, there was an independence declared from Israel and the Gentiles now have a new economy that the Apostle PAul reveals with The Mystery.  Americans would find it foolish to try to goven themselves under the King of England.  Christians shoud find it foolish to spiritually follow what was taught during the Acts period when Israel was the emphasis.  The Preterists try to claim the prophesies were fulfilled in AD 70 because they don't see The Mystery that was revealed and explains why every promise of prophecy was put on hold because God had a secret purpose that was hidden in Him before the foundation of the world.  The scripture reading was from Ephesians 4:1-12 KJV

The U, V and W of Right Division - Part 17

January 15th, 2017

We have recently begun a new series called the U,V and W's of right division. This title has been carefully chosen because I do not wish to give the incorrect notion that the series will be the "final word" on R/D but that it will extend the already published  "ABC's of R/D"
